Personal life
Bassinger resides with her mother, while the rest of her family remains in Texas. She used to play basketball, volleyball, and ran track/field. Bassinger used to be in beauty pageants and was a Our Little Miss World Winner. She was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 8. Before becoming an actress, she was a competitive cheerleader.
While in school, she was a sports lover, she always liked sports and was involved in a few of them like basketball, volleyball, track and field, and she was a cheerleader. Brec refers to herself as a competitive cheerleader. Once in an interview, when asked what her future goals were, here what she had to say;
“First, to continue acting! I would love to feature in some films and be a series regular on television. Also work hard in school and would really like to go to college when I graduate.”
She started her career in acting in 2013. Her first role was in a TV film “The Goldbergs” as Zoe Macintosh in an episode titled “The Circle of Driving” and she was in American TV sitcom “The Haunted Hathaways” as Emma from 2013 till 2014. In 2014, she appeared in Benny music video “Little Game”.
Career
In 2014, Bassinger was cast in the lead role of the Nickelodeon comedy series Bella and the Bulldogs, which ran for two seasons from 2015 to 2016. In 2016, she joined the cast of the 2018 direct-to-video teen comedy film Status Update. Also in 2018 Bassinger played the role of Roni in the Hulu television series All Night from AwesomenessTV. In 2019, she appeared in the thriller film 47 Meters Down: Uncaged.
In 2018, Bassinger was cast in the lead role of Courtney Whitmore/Stargirl in the television series Stargirl, which premiered on DC Universe and The CW in May 2020.
